Rest in peace, Grace
March 7, 2011
We had to say goodbye to our little buddy Grace tonight. She was always a fighter but her kidneys just couldn’t take it anymore. Only Grace could help us by giving us a laugh as she went; her tongue was stuck out until the end.
We’ve been overwhelmed by all of the sweet stories and condolences sent our way since her passing. Grace would be beaming from ear to ear with tongue flapping in the wind from all the kind thoughts and virtual butt scratches. We always felt she was a special girl, but to have it confirmed by so many people has been a blessing in the midst of our grief.
We’ve been watching this video a lot since we lost our girl. This is how we’ll always remember Grace — happy to be out in the sun with bully friends. There are lots of bullies here, but she’s the one at the beginning and the happy girl panting after the credits.
Our dogsitter, Bianca, gave us this video shortly after we lost Grace. Clearly, Grace was loved by more than just us.
We love you, sweet girl. You’re not in pain anymore.
